Sparkling Lemonade for Two!

Welcome to the very first ever Cook with Me Darling recipe post! This website is dedicated to couples, couples that love food and want it fresh and healthy but have no time to be slaving away in the kitchen. You have better things to do after all! I am kicking off this new blog with a simple, refreshing Fresh Squeezed Sparkling Lemonade for Two because it’s the middle of summer and that thermometer just keeps climbing.  Nothing hits the spot on a hot day quite like a fresh squeezed lemonade, and to make it a little more romantic I am adding some bubbles. So grab your significant other and let’s get our fizz on…

Divvying Up The Jobs:

Coupling in the kitchen makes everything more fun. That means divvying up the jobs. One of you grab the citrus juicer and measuring cups while the other grabs the baker’s sugar and cuts the lemons in half and let’s get this party started!

Sparkling Lemonade for Two!

The Recipe: Sparkling Lemonade for Two!

Tips and what you will need: a good knife and a citrus juicer.

I use "baker's" or castor sugar for this recipe. Both are super fine sugars that dissolve in water quickly allowing you to skip the step of making a simple syrup. In this case simple is definitely better! If you prefer a non sparkling lemonade, just add ice cold flat water instead of sparkling water.

Cuisine: American
Keyword: crowd pleaser, party recipe, summer recipe
Servings: 2 large drinks
Author: Linda Spiker
Ingredients
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice refrigerate lemons for colder drink
  • 3/4 cup baker's or castor sugar super fine sugar
  • 4 1/2 cups very cold sparkling water or if you prefer, flat water for traditional lemonade
  • 2 cups ice
Instructions
  1. Use a citrus juicer to squeeze lemons, pour juice into a pitcher
  2. Add castor or baker's sugar and mix well
  3. Pour in cold sparkling water, mix well and pour over ice into tall glasses
  4. Sip and high five each other for a job well done

Ohhhh yeah! Why have regular lemonade when you can have fizzy lemonade! I love cold, fizzy drinks like this!
